The FSSS-CSN is celebrating MDR workers week!

Posted by

During this week of medical device reprocessors (PRDM), the Health and Social Services Federation would like to highlight their exceptional work.

Although they are in the shadows in the great world of surgery, without them the work of surgeons could not be accomplished. At first glance, according to some, their tasks seem quite simple. We disinfect and that’s it! ON THE CONTRARY!

Their work requires meticulousness and in-depth knowledge of the different products and tools to be used and disinfected, in several sometimes complex stages in order to guarantee that each patient can be operated on safely.

Some instruments require up to 20 minutes of precise manual cleaning. Others have up to 60 cleaning steps to ensure standards are met.

Valorization

Furthermore, reducing waiting lists in surgery requires, among other things, better valorization of jobs. We can have more operating rooms with surgeons and others, but without instruments, without PRDM, no operation can take place.
